Who are we?
As you might've read on the front page, we are a group of Malaysian students studying here in Northwestern University,
Evanston, Illinois, USA. There are currently 14 of us here and all of us are undgraduates mostly majoring in various engineering fields at the McCormick Institute of Technology here at Northwestern
The Association
The Malaysian Student Association of Northwestern University a.k.a Cili Padi is a non-political, non-secular student association officially founded on the 12th of October 2002. The mission of the association is to bring Malaysians here at Northwestern together to organize activities and facilitate the mind growth of its members. Besides that, the association also assists new and prospective students bound for Northwestern University.
Cili Padi
Cili padi means hot chillies in Malay, the Malaysian national language. The name Cili Padi was proposed by our PR chair person, Anand Pillai during our first meeting. According to Anand, the name suits the association best because the association has a strong integrity amongst its members. At the same time, the association has perhaps the smallest number of members among the MSAs here in the States.
